On the last Tuesday of every month from 3 to 5pm, the members watch the film on their own before attending the discussion to be held either at a member’s home, or somewhere outside. The group plans to watch films – fiction and documentaries – that are well known because they have won/been nominated for an award (Oscar, European and/or national), or because they had a major impact on a nation’s film-going audience. They can be chosen to broaden knowledge of a country, be relevant to issues of the day or historical; to tell a really good story; or to show the human condition unique to the country or universally.
Deepika Chawla is now leading this group. She, in collaboration with the group, selects the film for the month and where the group will meet. The group is still small, and they would welcome new members. Contact Deepika at deepikachawla@hotmail.com if interested in joining.
