Edie's contact info: 301-299-9445; wingw@aol.com Unfortunately this group is currently full.
Daytime Book Group meets the third Wednesday of each month from 1-3 pm on Zoom. Books are chosen from members’ suggestions in May or June for the following year. One person volunteers as hostess and another as discussion facilitator. Although there are about 18+ members, average attendance is about ten or twelve per meeting. Mary Jane Mckee is the Coordinator and is currently full.
Booklovers Group meets monthly at a member's home to discuss an agreed upon book on the first Wednesday from 10am-12pm each month. Jill Randall is the Coordinator. This group is currently full.
A new book group can be started if there are enough members and someone is willing to lead the group. Contact Archana Dheer at archana.dheer@gmail.com if you wish to join the waiting list.

SPECIFIC INTEREST GROUPS
Dining Friends group meets 4 to 5 times a year for an evening filled with delicious food, engaging conversation, and fun. These gatherings take place at a member’s home or at a local restaurant. The hostess of each event chooses an inspiring theme and determines the number of guests she can accommodate. For home-based events, the hostess provides the main dish, while each attendee brings a side dish and their preferred beverage. For a Restaurant event, attendees pay for their own meal (individual checks or a fixed amount). Spouses are welcome to join, or members may choose to bring a guest. For more information, contact the Coordinators Suzel Lemus at dsklemus@hotmail.comor Kathy Tassis at Tassis@verison.net
Dining Inn meets bi-monthly on the second Saturday of the month. The designated hostess decides on the number of guests she can accommodate as well as the country or theme to build the menu around. Each individual/couple prepares a dish representing the theme selected. The hostess can be consulted for menu suggestions or the hostess will make some suggestions on her own of what is needed. The hostess is responsible for setting tables, preparing the hors d'oeuvres, and providing water and coffee/tea. Each guest brings a bottle of wine/beer/soda for his/her own use. Members of this group host approximately once in about 16 months -- or more. Patti Suggs is the Coordinator. This group is currently full.
MahJongg group meets at members' homes at 10am on 1st and 3rd Fridays each month. Barbra sends out emails to members giving program details. Please contact the Coordinators Barbra Stoddard at bstoddard@aol.com or Mary Vargo at mbvargo@aol.com if you wish to join.
Movie Buffs meet on the last Tuesday of every month from 2:00-4:00 pm to discuss the film of the month. Members watch the film on their own before the meeting. The group meets either at a member’s home for tea or somewhere outside (the participants pay for themselves). The members watch films – fiction and documentaries – that are well known because they have won/been nominated for an award (Oscar, European and/or national), or because they had a major impact on a nation’s film-going audience. They can be chosen to broaden knowledge of a country, be relevant to issues of the day or historical; to tell a really good story; or to show the human condition unique to the country or universally. The group is welcoming new members. Please write to Deepika Chawla, the Co-ordinator deepikachawla@hotmail.com if interested in joining.
